Tim Meyers is Senior Advisor of Baker Tilly and provides strategic advice and counsel to numerous clients. His specific focus is working closely with entrepreneurs, senior management and their boards to accelerate growth and strategic initiatives which can include advice on equity and debt structures, acquisitions, dispositions, strategic partnerships, new offerings, management team optimization, workouts, etc. His clients have included companies in the software, cyber, biotech, life sciences, data analytics, private equity, professional services, manufacture, energy, real estate, and education sectors.
Throughout his career, he has operated in various roles, including Chairman, Managing Partner, Managing Director, Partner, President, CFO, and Chairman of Investment Committees. As an investor, he has managed large diversified portfolios for endowments, family offices, and corporate pension funds. As a principal, he has created new VC/private equity, hedge, and real estate funds. He has raised more than $ billion in equity and debt. He has led, managed and/or directly invested in over a hundred separate companies. As a board member and management team member of many of these, he has helped lead the exit planning that created tremendous liquidity for owners and investors.
He leverages his multi-decade experience by assisting entrepreneurs, management teams, and their boards build shareholder wealth. Currently, he is serving on the board of three companies, Embody, an advanced manufacturing and products company that is creating patented products to help patients fully recover from torn Achilles and other ligament injuries by utilizing manufactured tapestries that mimic the body’s micro architecture and limits scaring and accelerates the body’s natural recovery process. Patrocinium – A Platform as a Service (PaaS) software company that utilizes its patented 4D visualization and mobility platform to provide immediate, actionable and location specific information to organizations, the public, and first responders. IQExchange – A software platform that provides a trusted marketplace, where companies, governments and contractors can find or loan skilled talent in a predictable, streamlined fashion.
Tim has had the pleasure of being an instructor for multiple universities and law schools. He is has been an active board member with a number of universities, research institutes, and other not-for-profit organizations. He has a Master’s degree in accounting and tax from Virginia Tech and a BS in business from George Mason. University. He has been married to his high school and VT sweetheart for 33 years. His only child is a sophomore at Virginia Tech’s Pamplin School.
