Teresa McCoyProgram Coordinator

    Prior to joining Apex Center, Teresa served the university in several roles, most recently as Conference Registrar for Continuing and Professional Education and previously as Assistant Director for Event Services, Student Engagement and Campus Life. Teresa was the opening General Manager for the AmeriSuites in Blacksburg, now the Holiday Inn Express. In 2001, prior to moving to Wilmington NC, she started a consulting business STP, Short Term Projects, LLC, assisting small businesses with writing standard operating procedures and policies, employee handbooks, provided employee screening and background checks, and holding orientation programs for new employees. While living in Wilmington, NC she was Community Director for the March of Dimes and Corporate Sales Manager for the Holiday Inn Sunspree Resort. Teresa has extensive experience in event planning, fundraising, volunteer recruitment and managing and leading hotel teams. She served on the Board of Directors and as Tourism Committee Chair for the Blacksburg Chamber of Commerce.

Teresa shares the Center’s vision for programs that help students develop core skills of entrepreneurship.”

    In her new role as Program Coordinator, Teresa will coordinate the implementation of Apex Center programs and events. “My passion is excellent customer service, providing true hospitality, and to always exceed the client’s expectations.”
