John BrittPrincipal | Hamden Partners LLC

Upon graduation from Virginia Tech in 1986, I moved to Northern Virginia and joined HITT Contracting Inc as an assistant project manager. I left HITT in 1989 and worked for two other small NOVA firms as a project manager and project executive. I rejoined HITT in 1996 as a Senior Project Manager and spent the next 26 years with the company until I retired in 2022 as Executive Vice President. My work there ranged from multi-year term contracts at top-secret government facilities as well as private/public projects where I supervised numerous new construction, renovation, and buildouts for corporate and government clients. As Executive Vice President overseeing HITT’s government sector, I was a member of HITT’s corporate steering and corporate executive committees. I played a major role in defining HITT’s corporate culture and setting the firm’s agenda as a $3.5B national player in the construction industry. I also provided executive oversight for HITT’s Institutional, Commercial Services and Recruiting divisions. I was the creator, founder and executive of the HITT Futures Program which provided training for over 400 Project Engineers. Upon Retirement, I started Hamden Partners to help construction companies and executives while utilizing my more than 35 years of experience in the construction industry. I am married to Venus Britt and have two daughters, Caroline (Villanova University ’22) and Elizabeth (Virginia Tech ’24). My wife and I live in Oakton, Virginia.
