Donna Gibb is the founder and president of ProTask, Inc., a WBENC certified woman-owned small business that provides a host of solutions in the human capital space around emerging technologies. The services include IT consulting, IT professional services, staffing/workforce solutions, executive search, and DEI search. Prior to starting the firm, Donna spent 15 years in international telecommunications/software sales working for large global technology companies such as Vodafone, Telia, RIM/Blackberry, and BMC Software. Under Donna’s leadership, ProTask has recently been recognized as a TOP 50 growth firm in MD/DC/VA by the Washington Business Journal. ProTask has also been recognized for two consecutive years by WPO/American Express and WPO/JP Morgan Chase as a TOP 50 woman led growth firm nationally.
Donna earned a B.A. from Virginia Tech in Communications/Public Relations. She earned a M.A. degree from George Mason University in Telecommunications Management. She is a member of Women in Technology, and she has spent 4 years on the leadership team of the Girls in Technology Mentor/protégé program designed to mentor high school girls considering a career path in STEM. Donna currently sits on a small business executive leadership round table to share best practices and discuss industry hot topics. Donna is enthusiastic about giving back to the community. Through the business, she supports organizations such as Touching Heart, Second Story, and the American Cancer Society. The firm also set up a small scholarship fund to help a student coming from an underserved community to attend Virginia Tech pursuing an interest in STEM. In addition, Donna is a member of the Langley High School Athletic Booster Board.
Donna lives with her husband Todd in Great Falls, Virginia and is the proud mother of active high school twins, Ben, and Ashley. In her free time, Donna can be found planning travel excursions, cooking, running, reading, attending HOKIE sporting events, and spending time with family.
